-
Business as usual cannot continue during this unprecedented executive power grab

Outline the current constitutional crisis, urging them to stop all confirmation votes, stop hearings, and reclaim their appropriations authority.
Lack of Expertise:
Loyalty can sometimes be prioritized over competence. This can lead to individuals being placed in positions for which they lack the necessary skills, experience, or knowledge. This can result in inefficient governance, poor policy decisions, and a decline in the effectiveness of government agencies.

Politicization of Agencies:
Loyalist appointments can lead to the politicization of previously neutral government agencies. This can undermine public trust in these institutions, as they may be perceived as serving the interests of the ruling party rather than the public good.

Erosion of Institutional Memory:
When loyalists replace experienced career civil servants, it can lead to a loss of institutional memory and expertise. This can make it difficult for agencies to function effectively and can lead to policy mistakes.

Potential for Corruption:
In some cases, loyalist appointments can create opportunities for corruption and abuse of power. Individuals who are primarily loyal to a political leader may be more likely to engage in unethical or illegal behavior to advance their interests.

Decreased morale of the civil service:
When career civil servants see political loyalists appointed to positions that they are qualified for, it can lead to decreased morale. This can lead to those civil servants becoming less effective, or leaving the government entirely.
It's important to note that every administration makes political appointments, and there's a balance to be struck between loyalty and competence. However, when loyalty is prioritized excessively, it can lead to significant problems for the government and the public.
