Fight back against Mass Deportations

  • Raiding minority communities needs to stop

  • Urge elected officials to block ICE and to seek federal court injunctions.

  • Ask their offices about what they are doing to protect vulnerable families in our community

The strain on Resources and Infrastructure:

The use of federal prisons (Bureau of Prisons - BOP) for immigration detention places a significant strain on already underfunded and understaffed facilities. This can lead to inadequate conditions for both detainees and staff.

The BOP already has limited resources to address its maintenance needs, and adding immigration detainees will further strain the system.

Concerns About Human Rights and Due Process:

There are concerns about the treatment of detained immigrants, including potential mistreatment and unconstitutional detention conditions. Access to legal counsel, basic necessities, and due process rights are also points of concern.

Impact on Public Safety:

Critics argue that prioritizing immigration enforcement over other law enforcement activities can divert resources away from combating serious crimes, potentially jeopardizing public safety.

Negative Impacts on Families and Communities:

Mass deportations can lead to family separations, causing significant emotional and financial hardship. It also creates fear and instability within immigrant communities.

Operational and Logistical Challenges:

The sheer scale of mass deportation efforts presents significant operational and logistical challenges, including the need for increased detention capacity and transportation.  The use of military planes for deportation is very expensive and can cause diplomatic problems with other nations
