Protest Migrant Detention Facilities

  • The use of military assets and bases, including Guantánamo Bay, deepens the metastasizing of the deportation system and ICE detention in the Department of Defense with obscured transparency

  • Reported human rights violations can go unscathed

  • Indicated efforts to expand ICE contracting with local jails, including suspending various national detention standards

Inadequate Medical Care:

Reports indicate instances of medical neglect, insufficient staffing, and delayed or inappropriate medical treatment. This can lead to preventable illnesses and even deaths.

Poor Conditions and Human Rights Abuses:

Overcrowding, unsanitary conditions, and lack of access to basic necessities have been frequently reported.

The use of solitary confinement, especially for vulnerable populations, raises serious human rights concerns.

Mental Health Impacts:

Detention can cause severe psychological trauma, including anxiety, depression, and PTSD, particularly for children and those with prior trauma.
